
Chitwan is the most accessible National park for the jungle safaris and the wildlife Adventure in Nepal for all the travelers as it is located in the southern middle part of Nepal and chitwan is linked by the air transport, road transport and River rafting as well.
Chitwan National Park is one of the best Parks in Nepal, established in 1973 AD and it was declared UNESCO Natural Heritage Site in 1979. Chitwan is situated in southern central Nepal, covering 932 sq.km covered with deciduous forests overlooking the floodplains of Narayani and Rapti rivers. The Chitwan Jungle safari offers a wilderness of rich ecosystem which includes many species of birds, mammals, reptiles and many kinds of water animals. The major attraction of Chitwan is one-horned and Royal Bengal tigers that live in the dense forests of the Chitwan national park and the chitwan are the home to the other animals like rhesus monkey, grey langur, deer, leopards and wild cats etc.
By rafting: We can depart from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M. by car/coach to Mugling (Confluence of Marshynagdi and Trisuli River) from where exciting rafting begins and floats down to a picnic spot for lunch along the river side and continues to destination, where our vehicle will be waiting to transfer you to Chitwan.
By road : we simply can departure from Kathmandu at 7.00 A.M by car/ coach for Chitwan National park on the Mugling- Narayanghat highway 175 km to the park.
By Air: The air service is available from Kathmandu to Bharatpur every day. It takes only about 20 min.
Elephant Safaris: Elephant riding is the most popular jungle activities in Chitwan national park and this is a truly traditional way of exploring the jungle. From the elephants back you can see over the high grass and discover the animals enjoying themselves in the wild.
Boating / Canoeing Trip: Canoe ride along the Rapti river will be an excellent opportunity for Bird Watching and for seeing the 2 rare species of crocodiles; the Marsh Mugger and the fish eating Gharial.
Elephant Breeding Center: Of all the animals, elephants are probably the most graceful. Our naturalists will take you to the Hattisar to demonstrate how elephants’ meals are prepared and how they eat in the Elephant Breeding Centre. They will explain the nature and habits of elephants. The unique Centre was established in 1985 for the captive breeding of domesticated elephants trapping for domestication.
Elephant Bathing: Cool off on one of the scorching summer days by taking a refreshing dip in the waters of the Rapti River – hope you don’t mind an elephant in the tub! You can help bathe the elephants, and get a unique “shower” as well! This activity is only offered in the warmer months (March to July, please inquire), as it is too cold for the elephants in winter.
Bird Watching: Chitwan jungle is the home of many species of birds and several unusual birds as well- if you are lucky you may see a red tailed king fisher early in the morning. This is a great bird to behold.
Colorful Tharu Village Visit: Experience the culture and traditions of the Tharu people (who are the indigenous of the area) living close to the jungle and wildlife for centuries. They dwell in symbiosis and constantly battle with the wild animals to share the wild with them.
Nature or Jungle Walk: Exploring the area by foot, as we watch birds, animals and plants in tandem with one another. Our experts can take you to good places for spotting a tiger, rhino or any other wild animal.
Jeep Drive: Jeep Drive goes through the grasslands and into the deep jungle where you have opportunities to see the many animals plus you will visit the crocodile breeding center.
Tharu Stick Dance: a melodious scintillating tribal dance performed by men with the rhythms of drums and the clashing of sticks. The dance shows how to scare of rhinos and other wild animals away from the village. These animals sometimes stray into human settlements & this is dangerous. The stick dances are just thrilling to watch & it generally occurs after dinner in your last night at the lodge.
